Deer Stalking

Ben Alder Estate is one of the best places in Scotland to partake in one of the countrys oldest pass times: Stag and Hind stalking. Moving up the hillside with one of our expert stalkers, your party will get the chance to make the memory of a lifetime.

Red Stag Stalking

Ben Alder Estate spans over 56,500 acres of dramatic mountains, lochs, and unspoilt wilderness, offering an exceptional stalking experience.

Stalking takes place across four distinct beats, with traditional stalking ponies used in certain areas to access more remote terrain.

We welcome guests of all physical abilities and can tailor the experience to be as challenging or as accessible as desired.

Where the ground allows, our Highland ponies are used to recover the culled deer.

The Ben Alder Beat

The Ben Alder Beat is one of the estate’s most iconic stalking areas, offering a truly authentic Highland experience across varied and dramatic terrain.

Stalking here provides a rewarding day on the hill, combining the challenge of the chase with breathtaking views.

The Corrievarkie Beat

Corrievarkie is one of the estate’s most secluded and striking areas, reached by boat or a beautiful, winding drive that carries you deep into the hills.

The journey itself is part of the experience, passing through rugged terrain before revealing dramatic views across Loch Ericht.

Expect varied terrain and a real sense of remoteness.

The Camusericht Beat

The Camusericht Beat offers a classic Highland Stalk, combining rich woodland and open moors. The terrain is varied but fairly flat and full of character.

Hind Stalking

Hind stalking at Ben Alder takes place during the colder months, when careful deer management is essential to the health of the herd and the wider environment.

We welcome all levels of experience and fitness. Whether you’re looking for a challenging day out or something more steady, we’ll work with you to make sure the day suits you.
