From authentic deer stalking to trout fishing, Ben Alder provides the best that traditional Scottish country sports has to offer. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned stalker, enjoy the best guest experience while making unforgettable memories thanks to our expert team across 56,000 acres of highland beauty.
The Estate’s mixed-bag driven game shoot is set amongst the rolling hills in Allt An’t Sluic, offering an exciting and varied day’s sport. Driven pheasants provide the hallmark high birds, complemented by partridges and ducks over carefully managed drives that make full use of the Estate’s natural contours. Combining challenging shooting with breath-taking Scottish scenery and warm Highland hospitality, it is a truly memorable sporting experience.
Ben Alder Estate spans over 56,500 acres of dramatic mountains, lochs, and unspoilt wilderness, offering an exceptional stalking experience. Stalking takes place across four distinct beats, with traditional stalking ponies used in certain areas to access more remote terrain.
Simulated game shooting offers an experience that closely replicates a traditional driven day, blending the excitement of clay pigeon shooting with the authenticity of a real game shoot. Each drive is carefully designed to mirror classic game shooting, with clays released in lifelike patterns and flight paths that emulate partridge, pheasant, grouse and duck.
On Ben Alder Estate we have many flight ponds primed for shooting wild duck with the iconic backdrop of Munros and woodland. Whether enjoyed as part of a mixed sporting stay or as a standalone evening pursuit, duck flighting captures the timeless appeal of Highland wildfowling at its finest.
Ben Alder Estate is home to the magnificent Loch Ericht, one of Scotland’s largest freshwater lochs, stretching over 18 square kilometres and reaching depths of more than 150 metres.
We provide tailored fishing packages giving guests the opportunity to catch brown and ferox trout.
Enjoy the experience of salmon fishing on three miles of the upper world-famous River Spey, the birthplace of Spey casting and one of Scotland’s most iconic salmon rivers.
